This school offers an MA in Counseling Psychology with an Expressive Arts Specialization and emphasis in Dance/Movement Therapy. It meets the requirements for the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) licensure process in California and may meet the requirements for the new Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). CMER provides all the dance/movement therapy coursework needed to meet the requirements for the Alternate Route to registry as a dance/movement therapist. In addition to the requisite DMT-specific coursework, the Alternate Route requires a master’s or doctoral degree in a human services-related field (i.e., counseling, psychology, social work, special education, dance education, a creative arts therapy, family therapy, occupational therapy, psychiatric nursing, or medicine.
